SAMSAR is seeking community leaders to sponsor area first responders to attend a specialized technical rescue class coming to Tucson this spring, March 24, 25, & 26.
There will be a 1 day classroom instruction and a 2 day hands on that teaches the students technical rescue concepts unique to large animal incidents including scene management, rescue, capture, recover, and specialized equipment techniques. It covers trailer vehicle incidents, trail riding incidents, and stable incidents. The class is designed for first responding agency personnel keeping themselves and the animals involved safe during an incident extraction. The course curriculum is well established and approved as a California State Marshall Technical Rescue Fire Course. It has been offered to Arizona first responders since 2008. The class will be held at the S.A.R.A. building : 5900 N. Sabino Canyon Rd.

The 3 day class cost is $375.00 per person. Sponsors can either delegate an agency or person they would like to sponsor or leave it up to the Host Party, SAMSAR, to determine the highest priority responding agency to get the most coverage of trained individuals in the class.
